June ❀

Hello!! I'm finally going to fill this space up with a proper post :) Lots of things to blog about so it'll be pretty lengthy! Plus these are just bits and pieces of what happened over the past few weeks so... :)

EDS Tech run

can't remember much of it but it was quite a bad day bc nothing went right and we were scolded really badly but sigh that's not the point because the end result is what really matters :)

Vesak Day (24 May)

For this year's Vesak Day, I headed to my aunt's house for a gathering! Was looking forward to it because it was a school holiday and we planned a surprise birthday party for my mum :) also, it was a great chance to meet up with the cousins again especially since everyone's been so bz ever since school reopened ):

helped my popo make tangyuan with ruien and nicole because we were early, and my popo makes the best tangyuans ever! (thinking bout them right now makes me hungry) I ended up staying in the kitchen for quite some time and listened to my aunts and mum talk. I like the way my mum is always happy around her sisters, there's something really really special about the way she laughs when she's with them :) headed up to play with the kids for a while while waiting for my Alicia and Ruiting to reach.

When they FINALLY arrived, they had dinner first because they were hungry and there was sooo much to eat but I didn't really have much appetite probably because I was in the kitchen the whole time helping myself to food! Stayed downstairs with my aunts and the rest of the cousins while the younger ones were upstairs playing doctor :) had some grown up talk that was light hearted and it made me happy :)

then talked to ruiting and alicia for a while before we celebrated my mum's birthday!! My aunt forgot to order the cake in advance so she only managed to get the small durian one ): nonetheless, it was REALLY yummy and the best thing is that my mum was really touched hehe. She admitted that she kinda teared so I guess it was a success! Thumbs up to my bro who was really cool when he held the cake and walked over to my mum :')

EDS Night (25 May)

It was my last EDS Night and it was probably the most magical one :) What originally seemed impossible was eventually possible, but definitely not without the people who made it successful.
The path to that day was not easy at all, with plenty of hiccups along the way. The tech run was a failure and the teachers scolded us really badly, saying how we were "a big joke" and that "nobody would pay to watch this". The juniors left school at about 10:30pm and the y4s left slightly before midnight after tech run, not to mention that there was school the next day too.
Even on the big day itself, we were rushing to get things done and everyone was doing last minute preps. We shouted and scolded the juniors, pushing them to put in more effort then they were already putting in. It was awful to raise our voices at them but at the end of the day I'm grateful to have a bunch of understanding and lovable kids :) Like what Marcus mentioned, "It's been hard on you guys." It really has, but i'm proud of each and every one of my shining stars :)

Before the show, stress level was sky high as we rushed to change into costumes, put on make up and have dinner. I remember we were having our final rehearsal at 6pm and at that time prop movement was horrible, juniors were panicking backstage and I wasn't ready at all. Even before that, the y4s were running around ensuring that everything was ready. Kennedy was busy with the admin matters, Yongzi was helping with make up, Junde and Jinghao were busy getting the booklets from the supplier, people hadn't eaten, Jamie was busy at the blackbox and the dancers were rushing to get ready for their performance. At 6:30pm, half an hour before the show, I was running around like a mad chicken changing, putting on make up and I remember myself feeling so so so scared.

However, all I can say is that I'm super thankful for my princesses and little pink fairy that day. They were the ones who were helping me with my hair, and giving me hugs to comfort and reassure me when they themselves were nervous :) so proud of them, esp when I was watching them backstage!

Rushed out to the PAC at about 6:50pm and it was so heartening to see the long queue that stretched all the way to 1E. Lights were up and the show started at 7pm. I remember how I was sweating so much backstage and how my hands were shaking before reading the first diary entry. Thank you Kennedy for giving me the courage I needed then :')

I enjoyed every minute I had up there with each and every one of them, and to put it simply, I know I'll miss it. The encore was the first and the last play the y4s got to do together, and it was amazing. I loved the process of making it possible and I loved it when we performed it together on stage :)
The mass dance was so amazing too, but it wouldn't have been possible without Jinghao who lead the way and ensured that we were able to keep up with the rest (for once) ;)

The video was shown on the panels of the PAC and I hope the juniors know how much all of them mean to us and to the family. Thank you for staying strong and for going through the tough times together :') headed out and received so many chocolates and flowers and cookies and all I can say is thank you so so so much :') :') it means the world to us that y'all came down to support and everyone was so well-dressed omg!!! I saw so many pretty dresses out there hehe.

Stayed in school to clear the props backstage and pack everything into place before we headed to macs for supper :) Took pictures, had our late dinner/ supper and then Marcus, Kennedy, Clarence, Ziyi and I took 12 home. Reached home at about 1 am and I was exhausted but happy :')

Thank you for all the lovely gifts and flowers and for making me feel like a star that night! hehe i really really appreciate them all but nothing compares to the time y'all took to attend :) especially loraine yvonnemoh yixian li en xuanzhu shauna and all the seniors who was always there to lend a listening ear when I felt so helpless :') ♡

Last week of school

1. vitamin soda that yixian gave me after eds night/ 2. food that marshall guys got for us/ 3. YAY/ 4. YAY x2

had marshall morning circle and class breakfast on the last day of school which made it 10x more bearable ;') thank you class comm and those who made the trip down to macs to get the 36 orders ready! We had 1h30min to do whatever we wanted to do and it was really nice to sit tgt as a class. Got our report books and I guess I did pretty fine :)

after school, kennedy had chinese lessons so he didn't join Marcus, Clarence and I when we went to have banmian @ NEX

taken with wenxin (miss yeo) on our last lit lesson with her :)

JUNE

So I survived the last week of school..... and it's finally June!!! It's been a good holiday so far because I've been basking in the thought of not having to go to school for the month. I've been giving myself lots of "me" time, which is pretty bad considering the amount of homework we have but ah well I'll get to it eventually :) Finished watching my drama and running man episodes and most importantly, I've been getting a minimum of 8 hours of sleep everyday :')

this was taken on the first saturday of the June holidays! It was taken during open house, when we went back to the blackbox to take pictures with the juniors :) they did a wonderful job and the poster/ booth was so pretty!! Was looking forward to candyfloss @ d'carn but i couldn't find it ): the beehoon was good though! Yongzi and Marcus were having fun at the booths but kennedy and I were happier upstairs in the hall haha. Anyway, d'carn was fun bcuz i felt that the dhs spirit was somewhere there heh.

Ohyes, not to forget, I did CIP with Yongzi, Marcus and Clarence the other day (I forgot the actual date meh) but it was at raffles place and it was unexpectedly fun :) i never really liked the idea of streetsales but things were a lil different this time round :) although we were "confined" to that limited space which reminded me of a palace garden, the 7 hours were well spent indeed.

the eunuch, the princess & the warrior

Super grateful that i did it with the 3 of them because i'm 99% sure that things wouldn't have turned out so fun if it weren't for them. Yongzi was the princess of the day, I was her warrior maiden, Marcus was the eunuch and Clarence was the warrior (idea ripped from faith). Initially it was just Marcus, Yongzi and I but Clarence came for the afternoon shift after lunch :) oh speaking of lunch, we were so exhausted and hungry by the time it was break time so yoshinoya tasted much better than how it usually does :)

bought bbt and sat on the swing and waited for clarence before we carried on with our shift. Then sometime after, Yongzi and i found ourselves back on the swing once more with ribena and balloons :) I thought the sky was exceptionally pretty then.

8 June
dis iz da weird stupid blue alien

CIP again on the 8th of June at Orchard! Much more tiring but nonetheless fun filled :) it was slightly depressing because there were so little kind hearted people as compared to the other day at raffles place! also, the weather was worse and I think we walked a lot more /: on a side note, Clarence and I saw HaoJen! He hasn't changed a bit haha.

And we felt like celebrities for a day :) There were teams of people walking around Orchard asking for pictures and stuff, and we were approached 5 times! They were super friendly and not to mention a really glib tongue indeed. Took pictures and yongzi and I got approached by another bunch of girls advertising for some beauty thing so we snapped another picture with them! (but of course, we weren't approached for our beauty LOL) (ok maybe Yongzi was but not me HAHA)

oh and we saw this super weird guy who walked up and down the street at least 20 times! ok we only saw him pass by us 11 times but he definitely did so when we weren't looking. So we were all tired and sitting outside wisma doing nothing because we sort of gave up and Marcus was like "oh my god it's this man again!"
and so began the adventures of the eagles. We called ourselves Eagles 1-4 and followed him HAHA. He was our "sparrow" and it turned out that he was selling fake watches ): he's really weird! He'd take out a black Swiss time box containing a watch and then he'd start his grandmother story before taking out some clipboard and carrying out the transaction. One of his victims (AKA worms) was the bunch of people we took pictures with ):

Was thinking of telling them after he was gone but we didn't/

Pretty pretty girl =^^=

trained to pasir ris had dinner with marcus @ whitesands after that and it was enjoyable because we talked and argued and yehhh i think i've become wittier! Pretty sure I'm nearing his level soon ;)

(WE MANAGED TO SIT THROUGH THE WHOLE RIDE BTW!! YAY)

Stayed there and walked around to talk before I accompanied him to wait for his bus before walking back to the library where I was surrounded by books :) picked up a whole stack of them but my parents were rushing me so wellllll considering how I hate being rushed, I decided to forgo all of them )':

reached home and had a late but early night and slept till I was content :)
(late but early bc on usual school days it would be counted late but it's definitely under the "early" category for holidays)

Things that made me happy so far
  • the no computer ban has been lifted!!! (I think)
  • late night phonecall w marcus
  • battle of wits w marcus (which I think I won)
  • the above 2 made me very happy bc we haven't done so in ages
  • CIP
  • Nice people who were willing to donate and say nice stuff
  • I finished my drama which was so goood

btw the people at raffles place are really generous with their donations!! it's like, they don't even look at the amount they're donating. The nicest ones were those who said they were going to look for change and then come back to donate, and they actually did :') it certainly meant a lot.

people who were at orchard weren't thaat generous or big-hearted but there were some who were nice too :')

"someday we will find what we're looking for
or maybe we won't
maybe we'll find something much greater than that"
