BKK days 1/2/3

hi guys I'm back from bkk!! i really enjoyed myself and it was definitely made better with the company of my family & my cousins :) apart from that, i've got a total of 772 photos so i've no idea how i'm going to fit everything (if not, most) into this post. So before I end up with a whole new pile of them, I'd better clear these first hehe.

Day 1

cabbed to the airport, met up with my my aunt, uncle, jerald and alicia. There were a couple of hiccups along the way but i'm glad everything turned out well, and I was really thankful for my dad because his protective nature kicked in and made things better (for me at least!). My family was taking diff planes from alicia's, so we ended up meeting up at bkk! it was pretty funny because one moment we were like, "aaahhh I'm so excited!!!!!! hello ahyi!!!! hello uncle!!!" and the next we were like, "ok cya in bangkok!"

anyhoooooowww, here are the pictures :)

view from alicia's plane! I didn't manage to take any pictures of the clouds or the sky from the plane my family took because i was fast asleep hehe.

arrived at the hotel, and then waited in the lobby for a while because we couldn't go up until an hour later :( and I really liked our hotel because the staff were so accommodating and friendly, plus the rooms we got were really huge and cozy. My family got a room as huge as an apartment with a kitchen, 2 rooms, 2 toilets and a living room, so it was reaaaaaallly spacious :)

visited the four faced Buddha first while my cousins, aunt and uncle headed for lunch. The lady told us to pray for Health, Luck, Love and Wealth and we had to go in a clockwise/ anti-clockwise direction depending on your gender! it was really crowded and smoky so it was quite uncomfortable :/ my bro told me later on that he prayed for family love AND personal love and that kinda cracked me up haha.

also, we met Bernadette and her mum there! who knew there was a possibility of meeting your primary school friend in such a huge place like that??

headed back to the hotel to wash up and leave for the mall near our hotel :) had lunch, walked around and did a little shopping there before leaving for dinner at this realllllllllly good restaurant that serves delicious fried chicken. I'm not a huge fan of chicken wings so when I say they're good, they really are good!

left: passion fruit + lychee drink i got at the station that was really good ♥‿♥
right: oreo crepe i shared with alicia that i rate 10 out of 10

hungry people waiting outside the restaurant :(

my aunt and uncle!!

 the legendary chicken wings

so after dinner, we walked around and did more shopping because the clothes there are seriously VERY cheap. The boys got tired of shopping so my dad brought them back to the hotel on a tuk tuk, which marked the beginning of their tuk tuk fetish

so we shopped for about 3 to 4 hours while my uncle went for his massage! bought quite a lot of stuff before walked over to a nearby hotel to wait for my uncle :) then we bought supper back for the boys before taking a tuk tuk back and it was super fun hehe. Alicia and I kept waving at the crowd and pretending we were royals hahahaha who said we'll never be royals! (pun intended pls laugh)

bathed, stayed up for a bit talking to alicia and finished my book before heading to bed at about 3am! originally planned to watch a horror movie with my cousins, uncle and aunt but they were too tired so they didn't come over! so my bro had a huge bed all to himself for the whole trip while i had to share mine with alicia who conveniently kicked me to the edge and left such a tiny space for me in the middle of the night. (this went on throughout the trip ok)

 Day 2

we headed to chinatown this timeeee. The only time you find me being an early bird WILLINGLY is during holidays when there's the hotel buffet breakkie to look forward to :) aaaand, it wasn't a disappointment. Orange juice, French toasts, Danish pastries, yogurt and cereal; tell me how to resist???!?!

we had to take 2 different cabs and my dad decided to play paparazzi

colourful streets bustling with people and vehicles, that's bkk for you! had to stick together as a group because it was sooo easy to get lost in the crowd :/
stopped for noodles on the way :)

walked around for close to 3 hours before heading for lunch! settled for thai, but we added dimsum so it was wonderful ◡ ‿ ◡

my 2 favourite boys :)

we dicovered the b&w effect and that began our b&w streak while waiting for the food to arrive

did a little bit more shopping and this was how bored the boys were:
Explains why we had to go for dinner next!

waited at the roadside for quite a long time and realized how lucky s'poreans are to have air conditioned and fairly clean buses. The public buses there are mad crowded and people are literally standing on the bus steps with the doors wide open. The buses aren't air conditioned and my mum was saying how they looked like buses from 1970 Sg. Can you imagine squeezing onto this kind of buses after a long day at school..........

shopped again before heading back to the hotel. This time our "movie nights" plan worked out and we decided to watch a horror movie before heading to bed. My aunt & Jerald came over with chips and we started the movie (which i don't think i caught a lot considering how i was covering 3/4 of my face with a pillow)

Day 3

headed to platinum mall and the street opposite it to do more shopping! didn't manage to find anything partly because it was waaaaaaay too crowded and there were just too many clothes :/ the boys waited at macs for us because they were bored + tired so here's a picture of my sleeping brother hehe

btw the macs there is crazy cheap AND they sell stuff that SG doesn't, like milk tea w pearls and some xmas delight. Alsoooooo their mcflurry is just *_* cos you get to add all sorts of toppings and the price wouldn't exceed that of sg's sigh

we had dinner, then headed off to the cinema to watch Catching Fire since it was just released! purposely watched THG in the morning so we would be ready for CF and my my my it certainly didn't disappoint. I was kinda worried that it wouldn't live up to THG or the book and I really wanted the movie to be good because Catching Fire is my favourite out of the trilogy. However, everything was amazing and the arena was exactly the way I pictured it to be when I read the book :') we got a catching fire bucket and tumblr so it was really worth it hehe. Finnick was just jsbrgrjeabearnkjnknbeiotinteioin HANDSOME and basically after watching it Alicia and I were busy spazzing away

the only thing that was quite bad about the cinema was that the adverts were 25 MINUTES LONG >:( we sat there staring at the screen, advert after advert, wondering when it was going to end while our popcorn dwindled in amount...... oh and before the movie started, everyone suddenly stood up and it got me stunned for a moment because i thought something happened so we had to escape HAHA

my aunt thought it was an interval before the movie but it turned out that we had to rise for the king's anthem. Definitely a first time experience! The good thing about the cinema there was that it was ginormous because it occupied the whole level of the mall and they had posters and pop ups and photo spots :p

we caught the last show so we had to make our way out of the mall which was already dark and since the main entrance was closed, our uncle had to guide us out through the alley HAHA another first time experience

so we walked out to meet my mum and dad because they went to shop somemore instead of watching the movie. Bought supper along the way and headed back to catch another horror movie in the hotel! We didn't manage to survive the entire movie though :( we reached the hotel at about 2am and only went to bed at about 4!

& this marks the end of my days 1/ 2/ 3 BKK post!!! :) I'll be posting days 4 & 5 together immediately after i'm done but I decided to type them out in another post because I think there are just too many photos haha. If you're a survivor of this post, thanks for reading! hehe.
