CNY 2013

Hello!!! this week has been a blast, mainly because we had to go to school only on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I would actually look forward to school if we had 4 days of the week off!

Besides, we had celebrations on wednesday so it wasn't a 4:15 day :) went to NEX with kennedy, marcus and clarence after school to have lunch and to settle my craving for soghurt.

CNY Days 1 & 2 were really really fun because I got to spend them with my cousins although Day 1 was pretty awkward. We went to my great-grandma's house and I didn't know 90% of the people there. Plus the place was really tiny and there were so many people and unfamiliar faces so my cousins and i just sat by the door and ate lots of cny goodies ^^

Day 2 was much better because we headed straight to my popo's house!!!! I love seeing my popo, my uncles, my aunts and all my cousins because every meeting with them is always filled with so much laughter :) damien and his girlfriend were there too, and although the place was really crowded, it was really nice to see everyone there!

result of this: yusheng on our hair & on the floor

& on wednesday we headed to ervin's party! the food was sooo good *_* ruiting had 7 chicken wings in total hahahaha.

and the above pictures were taken on thursday/friday :) wrote letters for lots of people on wednesday and ended up staying up very very late so I felt like a zombie in school the next day o_e nonetheless, thank you to everyone who gave me notes, chocolates or gifts! I really appreciate it ♡

ohyes eds had our potluck on friday, and it was a success! Ms Sherene ordered pizza and the hawaiian one was wiped out in just 5 minutes. I think I was responsible for that too hahaha!

Day 6// 5 people who mean a lot (in no order whatsoever)
  1. parents
  2. brothers
  3. aunt
  4. cousins
  5. friends
I know this^ isn't really 5 people but it's 5 categories of people :')
Day 7// 4 turn offs
  1. vulgarities
  2. when a person doesn't make an effort to look presentable
  3. egoistic and "big-headed" people
  4. insensitivity
decided to do both days instead hehe.
hopefully everyone's had a wonderful friendship day/valentine's day, I'm getting really sleepy so goodnight all! take care :) x

You're my sun, my moon and all my stars

hello I'm baaack! The past 2 weeks were filled with so many things that they were mostly a blur, but I'm glad that I finally have the time to switch on the computer and blog. Each time I wanted to do so I either felt too lazy, or too exhausted.

Anyway, I've been feeling rather happy these days, and the best thing is..... I don't quite know why either ☺ And I can't wait for 14 feb to come too, there are so many things I want to do for the people around me. So here's just bits and pieces of what I remember of the last 2 weeks :)

- I'm sitting beside Li en now
- I screwed up my bio practical
- I realized something really nice
- I found something to work hard towards
- I fell asleep during chinese without Li lao shi knowing which is a great achievement because nothing actually escapes her eyes

Sitting beside Li en is quite fun and I actually rarely use my phone/itouch in class anymore because he has some kind of prejudice against people with twitter/social networking sites. It's like, I can just be scrolling through my timeline and he'll start his whole lecture on how we should all just 管好自己 and mind our own businesses and get a life LOL. But it's still funny sitting with him :)

And bio practical was just a huge huge mess hahaha ):

It was really hard for me and I didn't even know what to do most of the time. The funniest thing was that in our table of 4, all of us didn't know what to do so we all stoned there and stared at the beakers and then at the person opposite us and then we waited and waited and waited for the first person to start his practical.

we caused such a huuuge din in the canteen and i honestly felt very very bad afterwards /:

so we had eds tuanyuanfan on 1 feb!! :) The yusheng comm did a fantastic job hehehe. And it was amazing to have that 3 hours talk with jamie :')

Had my reunion dinner with my family a few days ago because my dad and aunt weren't gnna be in Sg for CNY. The food was really good and I had such a good talk and laughing session with my brother hehe. We just talked about loads of random things and yup I'm really thankful for him ☺ ☺

Day 5// 6 things you wish you'd never done

  1. I wish I was a better granddaughter to my granny before she left for good
  2. I wish I never did all the stupid things i did in 2010 and 2011

yup that's about it. I don't have 6 things that I wish I never did in particular, but those are the top 2 I guess! Especially #1, I regret it so much.

alright, i guess that's it! happy long weekend and CNY!!!! Goodnight!!

Halcyon

Day 4// 7 things that cross your mind a lot

  1. What time does school end?
  2. When's recess?
  3. What should I eat later?
  4. I'm so tired I need to sleep
  5. What should I wear later?
  6. random daydreams
  7. thoughts of people
HELLO TGIF! I'm so glad I made it to the end of the week because this week was just crazy, with all the homework that started coming in. Anyway, today we had cca auditions for y1s and this year, eds had 176 (about there) applications hehe. The year ones were pretty cute too, they were all so tiny and small hahaha. And some of them remembered yongzi and I from the orientation play! :)

^ and that was pretty much a summary of my Friday spent with EDS hehe. Went home with Jamie, Jinghao, Kennedy, Marcus and Clarence, and had dinner with Marcus and Kennedy. Reached home at 9:45pm and I was super tired by then ): My eyelids feel like they weigh a ton now but I don't really feel like sleeping yet so....

I don't really know what else to blog about, apart from the fact that today was a really good day :) It doesn't really need a detailed description because it was just like any other day spent in school, yet there was some sort of special touch added to it :)

In case you were wondering,

In Greek mythology, Alcyone was the daughter of Aeolus, the king of the winds. She married Ceyx, the son of the morning star, who was later killed by Zeus at sea. Upon seeing his body which had been washed closer to shore, Alcyone rushed into the sea with grief and though the waves broke against her, she did not go under. Instead, the sympathetic gods carried her to Ceyx and turned the couple into halcyon birds (kingfishers) so they could be together again.

Since that time, every year, for 7 days before the winter solstice, the waves are quiet and the water is perfectly calm. These days are called halcyon days, for during them, the king of the winds keeps the wind at home- because his daughter, Alcyone, is brooding on her nest upon the sea.

Hence, the expression "halcyon days" is used to mean a time of tranquil happiness.
